Position Overview

This role is situated within our West Assembly area and involves executing various assembly-related tasks that encompass electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and final assembly stages. Responsibilities may include strain gage bonding, wiring and soldering, calibration, testing, potting, general mechanical assembly, and additional related activities.

The standard working hours for this position are Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break each day. Overtime may be scheduled as necessary, occasionally extending into Fridays and Saturdays, typically involving shorter workdays.

Compensation: $19.47 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize a variety of power tools, hand tools, and material handling equipment as needed.
  • Work across multiple workstations and on various products.
  • Retrieve components from different heights, including floor and overhead.
  • Interpret and understand drawings, work aids, and safety documentation.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness, actively participating in 5S and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Occasionally handle materials classified as potentially hazardous, with Safety Data Sheets available for review.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as required and report any equipment issues needing technician attention.
  • Assist in guiding workflow and training new team members as directed by supervisors.
  • Engage in effective communication with team members in a collaborative manner.
  • Exhibit adequate technical and quality proficiency.
  • Achieve production output levels consistent with those of typical employees.
  • Arrive at work punctually, adhere to break schedules, and return to workstations on time.
  • Utilize computers and terminals for logging in/out and submitting time-off requests.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and data entry tasks.
  • May be assigned to different product lines as needed to fulfill customer and company objectives.
Qualifications

Skills: Strong self-management, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills are essential. Basic counting skills are required, along with some soldering experience and familiarity with computers and keyboarding.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand or sit for the entire shift as required, good hand-eye coordination, and depth perception. Must be able to walk over a mile during the workday, fully utilize both hands and legs, maintain steady hand and arm positions, and manipulate small components. Ability to lift and control 25 lbs overhead momentarily is necessary. Must effectively work in both high-variety and high-repetition environments throughout the shift, requiring minimal breaks beyond scheduled times.

Other Abilities: Must be able to follow instructions in English from various sources, retain training information, collaborate positively with team members from diverse backgrounds, and demonstrate a strong work ethic with minimal supervision. Consistent punctuality and a quality-oriented mindset are required, along with adherence to all safety and company policies.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Availability: Willingness to participate in voluntary overtime when available and ability to manage paid time off requests effectively.
