Job Summary:

CDI Engineering Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for leading a culture of compliance on our projects, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring the safety of our employees and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a culture of compliance on our projects, ensuring that all employees and contractors understand the importance of safety.
• Foster a positive work environment where safe work practices are enabled, and employees feel valued and respected.
• Review and approve safety plans and execution plans for contractors, ensuring they comply with our HSE plan and site procedures.
• Receive and audit safety plans from subcontractors, verifying that they have reviewed and approved the plans as compliant with our site requirements.
• Conduct daily audits of the jobsite against approved safety plans, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
• Endorse mitigation plans for contractors that do not meet our site requirements, securing waiver approval from the site manager as needed.
• Become trained in our customer's site procedures, ensuring compliance with their requirements.
• Perform BBS audits daily, identifying potential hazards and implementing controls to mitigate risks.
• Participate in incident audits conducted by contractors, reviewing and endorsing incident reports for final acceptance.
• Notify the project manager and site manager immediately of any incidents, ensuring prompt response and resolution.
• Verify waste disposal by contractors is in compliance with our site requirements, ensuring environmental responsibility.
• Ensure exposure monitoring is performed per the contractor's safety plan, protecting our employees and contractors from potential hazards.
• Serve as the representative and focal point for contractors when the Construction Manager or Construction Coordinators are not available, providing support and guidance as needed.
• Ensure that site contractors report man-hours and safety statistics weekly/monthly, providing valuable insights for improvement.

Qualifications:

• Experience with audits of jobsites and permits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Experience reviewing and approving safety plans, ensuring they meet our HSE plan and site procedures.
• Experience with mitigation plans, identifying and addressing potential hazards.

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma, with a preference for a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
