About the Role

Systems Planning and Analysis (SPA) is seeking a highly skilled Systems Safety Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Surety Programs Group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security, safety, and reliability of high-consequence operations for our government and private sector clients.

Responsibilities

As a Systems Safety Engineer, you will lead system safety assessments for DoD clients, providing independent safety evaluations of engineering change requests and safety subject matter expertise to safety plans and policy documents. You will also lead safety working groups and independent review teams, helping customers develop Model-Based Safety policy and processes for Digital Engineering efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Safety or STEM Field and 6 or more years' system safety experience.
  • DoD Top Secret Security Clearance (must be a U.S. citizen), or ability to obtain and maintain clearance.
  • Technical expertise with methods and tools for DoD Weapons System Safety analyses per MIL-STD-882E, NAVSEA SW020-AH-SAF-010.
  • Competent with computers and digital tools like Microsoft Office to include Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, and like Model Based Systems Engineering including Cameo Systems Modeler.
  • Capable of leading independent and team-based work with strong communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
