Emergency Department LPN

Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Emergency Department team at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital.
Job Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse, an advanced practice provider, or licensed physician.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to advocate for the clinical, emotional, ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients.
- Document all patient care activities and assist healthcare team members with documentation.
- Report changes in patient condition to the registered professional nurse, an advanced practice provider, or licensed physician and appropriate healthcare team members in a timely manner.
- Delegate appropriate patient care activities to clinical technicians or emergency medical technicians.
- Evaluate and maintain the patient care environment to promote safety.
- Administer prescribed medications, therapies, and treatments following practical nursing standards.
- Assist with patient education and discharge planning under the direction of the registered professional nurse, an advanced practice provider, or licensed physician.
- Collect patient specimens following department/facility policies and procedures.
- Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies to optimize delivery of patient care and treatment.
- Coordinate with materials management to ensure appropriate stock and minimize outdated stock.
- Provide wound care according to department clinical practice standards.
- Demonstrate a knowledge of unit-based quality improvement initiatives.
- At least 2 years of LPN experience, ED strongly preferred.
- BLS Certification (from the American Heart Association).
- Proficient in English, verbal and written communication skills, and computer skills required.
