Maintenance Manager Job Description

The Maintenance Manager will oversee a team of skilled trades employees in a Tier-1 automotive/industrial manufacturing environment. This individual will provide leadership and management to maintenance technicians, robotics technicians, and tool room personnel across all shifts, with a total of 300+ plant employees. The Maintenance Manager will lead daily plant maintenance activities and plan and oversee all production and facilities maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide supervision for department staff.
  • Plan and schedule all maintenance department activities, including scheduled, non-scheduled, predictive, and preventive work.
  • Implement process improvement activities related to methods and machines, in coordination with CIE and PIE.
  • Provide ideas to improve Direct and Indirect Labor Utilization rates in the plant.
  • Approve all maintenance and tool room purchases and spending.
  • Assist maintenance and tool room personnel in locating or ordering parts.
  • Work with outside suppliers and vendors to deliver various services to the plant.
  • Manage outside vendors associated with tooling repair and builds.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years in a maintenance supervision or management role.
  • Must have experience with both mechanical and electrical maintenance, with a proven track record of successful maintenance management.
  • Extensive knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatics, industrial controls, automation, and machine repair.
  • Experience supporting maintenance of production equipment as well as facilities maintenance.
  • Experience scheduling PMs and use of a CMMS system.
  • Experience scheduling and managing projects.
