Job Title: Surgical Technologist

Job Summary:

The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the Operating Room at Surgery Partners. Under the supervision of the Operating Room Manager/Director of Nursing, this individual performs surgical scrubbing and assisting duties. They are responsible for maintaining the sterile field, ensuring proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation and equipment, and adhering to principles and practices of aseptic technique and infection control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepares and knows the specific uses of equipment, instrumentation, and supplies used for surgical procedures.
• Locates, handles, and operates surgical instruments and equipment properly.
• Initiates service requests and reports to the supervisor when equipment malfunctions.
• Performs scrub roles, prepares the operating room, and sets up surgical instruments and equipment.
• Implements and maintains preference cards using automated processes and clinical information systems.
• Identifies potential risks to patients, reports incidents, and adheres to organizational policies and procedures.
• Provides excellent customer service and maintains a positive working relationship with colleagues.

Requirements:

• Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an approved surgical technician program, CST certification, or documented experience
• Minimum of two years' experience in the Operating Room preferred
• Ability to achieve CPR certification within 60 days of employment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
