Job Description:

Power BI Administration Role:

As a key member of the HCLTech team, you will be responsible for the full administration of the Power BI service, including user management, connection management, workspace management, gateway administration, and data sources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploying and managing Power BI gateways, including setting up default browsers, patching Windows servers, and ensuring compatibility with anti-virus software.
  • Configuring and managing Power BI services, data sources, and gateways.
  • Troubleshooting common installation and network issues, including proxies.
  • Implementing performance logging and optimization techniques to improve performance.
  • Installing drivers and certificates, and setting up ODBC connections for various databases, including Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • Creating and managing connections for datasets, dataflows, and data marts.
  • Migrating or repointing existing connections from single cluster deployments to multi-cluster deployments.
  • Cleaning up user access from old clusters after migration.
  • Creating new repository and Excel documentation for connection management.

Requirements:

  • Experience with Power BI administration, including gateway management and data source configuration.
  • Knowledge of database management systems, including Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • Ability to troubleshoot common installation and network issues.
  • Experience with performance logging and optimization techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
