Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled ECMO Specialist to join our team at Johns Hopkins Medicine. As a key member of our Respiratory Care team, you will be responsible for maintaining and performing clinical and administrative duties related to the Extra Corporeal Life Support (ECLS) service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized expertise regarding ECLS, Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD), and respiratory care to all members of the healthcare team.
  • Participate in the education, orientation, and training programs of all respiratory care staff, nursing staff, and physician staff.
  • Assist in the development of research projects with all staff and University faculty.
  • Perform and be proficient in all assigned duties required for ECLS, VAD, and respiratory care service.
  • Assume on-call responsibility, as necessary.
Requirements
  • Associates Degree required, Graduation from a Registered Respiratory Therapy Program approved by the COARC Council for the Accreditation of Respiratory Care Education Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Requires completion of a C.O.A.R.C. accredited Respiratory Care Program.
  • Must have two years (24 months) critical care experience at JHH. Plus two years (24 months) ECMO experience at JHH.
  • Requires a thorough understanding of all equipment used in ECMO and VADs.

Johns Hopkins Medicine offers a competitive salary range of $47.90 per hour - $76.63 per hour, commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
