Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled ECMO Specialist to join our team at Johns Hopkins HealthCare. As a key member of our critical care team, you will be responsible for providing specialized expertise in extracorporeal life support, ventricular assist devices, and respiratory care to patients and healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and perform clinical and administrative duties related to the ECMO service, including ECLS systems, VADs, and respiratory care equipment.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to respiratory care, nursing, and physician staff on ECLS, VAD, and respiratory care procedures.
  • Participate in performance improvement monitoring activities and contribute to the development of research projects.
  • Assume on-call responsibility and ensure 24/7 ECMO pump coverage.
  • Collaborate with the ECMO Coordinator to implement policy and procedure, and assist in data collection and entry.
Requirements
  • Associates Degree in Respiratory Care from a COARC-accredited program.
  • Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) and Maryland License required.
  • Minimum 2 years critical care experience at JHH, plus 2 years ECMO experience at JHH.
  • Strong technical, organizational, and analytical skills, with excellent communication and writing abilities.
