Job Summary

As a Shift Leader at Culver's, you will be responsible for running shifts efficiently and motivating team members to ensure every guest leaves happy. Your goal will be to maintain quality products, guest service, and restaurant cleanliness to meet Culver's standards.

  • Essential Functions:

• Run shifts effectively to ensure quality products, guest service, and restaurant cleanliness meet Culver's standards.
• Demonstrate proper product quality control, presentation, and hold times.
• Review daily deployment sheets and adjust to ensure team efficiency while maintaining labor costs.
• Perform restaurant opening and closing procedures effectively.
• Routinely monitor and coach team members on safety best practices related to the Culver's hazard communication program and workplace safety.
• Demonstrate proficiency on all restaurant positions.
• Train team members effectively on all restaurant positions.
• Empower team members to handle guest comments 'the Culver's way.'
• Ensure team members are knowledgeable concerning products and guest service.
• Demonstrate and ensure team members are following the standards of uniforms and appearance.

• Ensure proper follow-up of visitation and full field reports, including but not limited to cleanliness, hospitality, and ground appearance.
• Administer team member breaks according to federal and state legal requirements.
• Assist team members with mis-punches, voids, discounts, and other managerial POS functions.
• Perform daily morning, afternoon, and evening restaurant tours effectively.
• Run financial reports, count afternoon drawers, enter drawer pickups, and complete daily deposits.
• Access financial information and complete weekly sales and labor during their shift.
• Monitor daily inventory levels to ensure adequate supply for the shift based on current restaurant sales.
• Ensure shelf life, First In-First Out method of inventory rotation, and tempering sheet is maintained accurately.
• Ensure the accurate completion of the Quality Control/Safe Food Checklist.
• Ensure team members practice proper personal hygiene and demonstrate food safety practices.
• Assign and follow up on weekly and monthly 'odd jobs' to team members.
• Demonstrate positive and effective role modeling for all team members through appearance and attitude.
• Attend all manager and team member meetings.
• Follow restaurant policies and procedures consistently.
• Ensure proper product waste documentation on every shift.
• Use Radiant for cash counting procedures.
• Run daily POS labor reports.

Qualifications

Education:
College graduate with a degree in hotel and restaurant management or equivalent experience. Certified from a national food safety program.

Experience:
Demonstrates leadership skills. Certified in-store trainer in all areas.

Characteristics:
Have the ability to effectively organize work, communicate well, and be management-oriented. Demonstrates an energetic, positive attitude that is contagious.

Compensation:
Salary is commensurate with person's qualifications and will reflect present market for a position of similar responsibilities.
