Job Summary

The NPHX Church is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Preschool Assistant to support our Lead Teachers and Administration in creating a nurturing and safe environment for our children. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in implementing a quality educational program and developing positive relationships with children and their parents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Implementation: Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
  • Classroom Management: Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
  • Communication: Communicate with the Lead Teacher regarding all aspects of the children's care as well as classroom management.
  • Parent Communication: Maintain daily communications with parents through informal discussions.
  • Classroom Environment: Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
  • Self-Help and Hygiene: Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
  • Policies and Procedures: Understand and adhere to all policies and procedures of the NPHX Preschool, NPHX Church and ensure all preschool policies and state regulations are met.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records.
  • Training and Development: Attend annual new school year training in August and a minimum of 18 clock hours of training per year.
  • Community Engagement: Attend yearly Open House in August and at least one other family event each year.
  • Flexibility: Be flexible and willing to adapt to changes as needed.
Requirements
  • Age: Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Christian Faith: Born again Christian (Does not need to be a member of NPHX) and signed statement of faith.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 months of professional child care experience.
  • Energy and Teamwork: High energy and the ability to work well with others.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Child Development: An understanding of child development.
  • Organizational and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children up to 70lbs.
  • Certifications and Background Check: Must clear full background check and must have a negative TB test within the last year.
  • Transportation: Have dependable transportation.
Educational Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Early Childhood Education: Significant college credit in early childhood education or related field of study, CDA, or 6 hours of ECE credit preferred.
