We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our faculty as a Tenure-Track Professor in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, with a focus on Advanced Manufacturing Systems. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and conduct research in the area of advanced manufacturing, including automation, process modeling and control, digital/additive manufacturing, smart manufacturing/Industry 4.0, robotics, process monitoring and quality, electronics packaging, semiconductor fabrication, and industrial informatics.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in industrial and manufacturing engineering, with a focus on advanced manufacturing systems
- Conduct research in advanced manufacturing systems, with a focus on automation, process modeling and control, digital/additive manufacturing, smart manufacturing/Industry 4.0, robotics, process monitoring and quality, electronics packaging, semiconductor fabrication, and industrial informatics
- Develop and maintain a strong research program, with a focus on securing external funding and publishing research in top-tier journals
- Advise and mentor students in their research and academic pursuits
- Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and outreach activities
- Ph.D. degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, electrical or computer engineering (with relevant industrial and manufacturing experience), or a closely related field
- Strong commitment to inclusive teaching excellence and laboratory-based instruction
- Broad-based knowledge of industrial or manufacturing engineering
- Demonstrated effectiveness in written and oral communication
- Attention to and/or potential to contribute on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion across teaching, scholarship, and service
- Significant experience in fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
- Working with underrepresented students in research, teaching, service, advising, mentoring, or community engagement
