Position Summary:

The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for supporting maintenance operations within a vast training complex. This role involves working with a variety of heavy machinery to ensure that training facilities are properly maintained and operational.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a range of heavy machinery including bulldozers, backhoes, and excavators to perform tasks such as grading, loading, and relocating materials.
  • Conduct equipment maintenance and safety inspections prior to daily operations.
  • Utilize agricultural tractors and related implements in challenging terrains.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions and coordinate maintenance schedules.
  • Follow all safety regulations and protocols while operating machinery.

Work Environment:

The role may involve various working conditions, including:

  • Fieldwork in remote and rugged terrains.
  • Exposure to diverse weather conditions.
  • Travel in both government and civilian vehicles.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to lift and carry weights up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Experience in operating heavy machinery with a valid Kentucky Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks using various technical skills.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a High School Diploma and have relevant experience in operating heavy equipment. Candidates must also pass background checks to meet access requirements.
