Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Equipment Specialist to join our team at East Tennessee Children's Hospital. As a key member of our Biomedical Technologies department, you will be responsible for providing preventive maintenance and repairs on clinical equipment and medical networks. Your expertise will ensure the availability and reliability of our medical systems, and you will play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain medical computer hardware, operating systems, and software to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Configure and install medical devices, PCs, and peripherals as standalone devices or on medical networks correctly.
Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing medical systems and develop strategies for improvement or further leveraging these systems.
Assist in coordinating or performing in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new medical systems.
Evaluate new medical equipment for purchase, making recommendations based on technical expertise.
Perform initial acceptance inspections on new clinical equipment.
Directly responsible for maintenance, installation, and monitoring the hospital's medical networks for performance and reliability.
Provide all aspects of project management for various need-based projects, as assigned.
Participate in department development, suggesting policy changes, improving customer service, developing more efficient procedures, and all other activities that will improve the overall efficiency and customer services of the department.

Requirements:

Associates Degree Required, or successful completion of US military BMET training program Required.
BMET Certification required, or US military BMET certification required.
Minimum 5 years experience in a clinical setting required.
Excellent trouble-shooting, customer service, communication, critical thinking, and computer skills.
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and interactions.
