About the Position

We are seeking an exceptional biorepository leader to oversee our efforts in assembling data and biospecimens from global cohorts. Reporting directly to the head of platform development, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the biorepository, including sample collection, processing, storage, tracking, and distribution. Your experience in building a biorepository facility from scratch, encompassing accreditations and policy formation, will be invaluable to our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sample Management: Oversee the daily operations of the biorepository, ensuring seamless sample collection, processing, storage, tracking, and distribution.
  • Relationship Development: Establish and maintain strong relationships with external partners, such as biobanks and research institutions, for collaborative initiatives and sample exchange.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to guarantee the quality, integrity, and traceability of biological specimens. Regular monitoring, audits, and corrective actions will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including FDA, HIPAA, and other relevant guidelines, while prioritizing data security.
  • Leadership: Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all repository-related aspects, providing strategic guidance and oversight to senior leadership.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education: PhD in a biological discipline, with at least 8 years of relevant program management experience in industry or academia. Professional qualifications in management and operations are highly desirable.
  • Experience: Proven track record of managing national and international collaborative programs involving human specimens.
  • Biorepository Management: Experience in leading a biorepository in industry or academia, with proficiency in using biorepository management software/BLIMS and other relevant applications.
  • Collaboration and Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment, fostering creativity, focus on deliverables, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Competitive Salary: $180,000 per year
