About the Department:

The Transformation Management and Operations Team functions as a vital support framework for the University, tasked with nurturing and developing innovative concepts for transition to operational leaders.

About the Position:

The Innovation Project Coordinator within the Academic Administration sector of the Office of the Provost plays a crucial role in supporting extensive innovation and initiatives in education, collaborating with both internal and external partners. This position focuses on enhancing the student experience, advancing research, improving teaching methodologies, and integrating technology. The Coordinator is accountable for steering projects through various phases of development and execution, assisting in the rollout and management of groundbreaking projects, and working closely with campus stakeholders and key partners to ensure operational effectiveness.

Reporting to the Director of Transformation Management and Operations, this role collaborates with university stakeholders, including Academic Units under the Office of the Provost, schools and colleges, and other divisions such as Information Technology Services, Human Resources, and Finance.

Responsibilities:

Formulates project plans, leads working groups, and sets objectives and milestones for projects under the guidance of senior team members; Executes robust project plans; ensures accuracy in scopes of work and adherence to timelines; Assists in conducting risk assessments and developing contingency strategies; Provides support to team members on large-scale initiatives; Cultivates subject matter expertise in various academic and research operations to assist academic leaders and working groups; Collaborates with academic peers, IT staff, enrollment service managers, business unit personnel, and external strategic partners to initiate, plan, develop, and deliver projects; Communicates needs, progress, risks, and recommendations to leadership to share with partners, both technical and non-technical; Aids in the collection, analysis, and presentation of data from various sources to garner support for initiatives and enhance understanding of opportunities within and outside the university; Engages internal resources for market research and analysis; Assists in the development of business cases; Completes process mapping and documentation as necessary; Develops and implements effective change management strategies for all projects; Enhances project success by securing stakeholder alignment from ideation to implementation; Supports a continuous improvement program for project management by integrating best practices in evaluations, project delivery assessments, and root cause analyses, making adjustments as needed; and Contributes to process enhancements within the Office of the Provost and Academic Administration operations.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively; Experience working collaboratively with multifunctional teams; Demonstrated knowledge of project, program, product, or change management in a business or higher education context; Proficient in data analysis and presentation, including business analytics skills; Experience in client and customer service; Ability to innovate, solve problems, and address the challenges and opportunities in higher education; Strong organizational and time-management skills; Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage with individuals at all organizational levels; and Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

Project Management Professional (PMP) or Change Management (CM) certification preferred; Experience within higher education; and Familiarity with data visualization techniques.
