This team nurtures relationships with institutional investor clients, guiding them through every stage of the investment consulting journey, including strategic planning, implementation, performance assessment, and educational initiatives. Additionally, the team undertakes thorough investment manager evaluations and searches. This role encompasses a variety of tasks related to client consulting and manager research.

A strong commitment to fostering trusted relationships is essential. You will engage with members of the Real Assets Consulting team to gain insights and exposure across all asset classes under the real assets umbrella, benefiting from guidance and mentorship throughout your journey.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist senior consultants in managing client relationships by creating various deliverables, including market updates and performance presentations.
  2. Gather and analyze data for manager search and evaluation projects, liaising with investment managers to ensure data accuracy.
  3. Support investment manager due diligence efforts across the real assets sector, preparing committee packages and search documents.
  4. Assess and monitor investment managers based on diverse criteria, articulating insights both verbally and in writing.
  5. Contribute to the RFP process as part of business development, including drafting responses and coordinating logistics.
  6. Engage in performance reporting and monitoring tasks.
  7. Collaborate with Callan consultants and research professionals on client education topics and general inquiries related to real assets.
  8. Enhance Callan's research contributions through blog posts, thought leadership pieces, client workshops, and market-related presentations.
  9. Explore and develop research interests beyond real assets, including ESG, DEI, and industry trends.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Progress toward or interest in obtaining CFA and/or CAIA designations is preferred.
  3. 1-4 years of relevant industry experience is advantageous.
  4. Demonstrated interest in investing and capital markets.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  6. Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills, with a commitment to continuous learning.
  7. Excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
  8. Ethical conduct is paramount in all professional activities.
  9. Willingness to seek answers and ask questions, demonstrating active listening skills.
  10. Ability to work collaboratively within a team to devise optimal solutions for clients.
  11. Exhibit humility and accountability in all work-related actions.
