Job Title: Preschool Mentor Coach

Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is seeking a talented Preschool Mentor Coach to join our team. As a Preschool Mentor Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting the growth and development of our Early Head Start and Head Start programs.

Job Summary:

The Preschool Mentor Coach will provide on-site coaching and technical assistance to teachers and teacher assistants in our Early Head Start and Head Start programs. This role requires a strong understanding of child development, early childhood education, and adult learning techniques. The successful candidate will be able to analyze data, provide feedback, and develop strategies to improve teacher-child interactions and child outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback to teachers and teacher assistants
  • Develop and implement coaching plans to improve teacher-child interactions and child outcomes
  • Provide technical assistance to teachers and teacher assistants on curriculum implementation, child assessment, and cultural and linguistic responsiveness
  • Assist in the development and evaluation of program goals and objectives
  • Monitor the implementation of a developmentally and linguistically appropriate approach to child development and education
  • Design and implement staff trainings to address continuous improvement in child readiness outcomes
  • Provide input and recommendations on staff performance to Center Directors and management staff
Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Social or Behavioral Science, Education, or a related field
  • 18 semester hours in Early Childhood Education
  • Certificate of Completion of an approved 10-hour Developmentally Appropriate Practices for Pre-Schoolers or Infant/Toddlers Course
  • Successful completion of the 45 hours of Florida Child Care Facility Training within 12 months of hire date
  • Certificate of Completion of an approved 10-hour Special Needs Course
  • State of Florida Child Care and Education Program Director Credential or eligible to obtain credential
  • Valid Florida Driver License
  • Two years of experience in teaching pre-school or kindergarten age plus two years of supervisory experience
  • Previous Head Start/Early Head Start experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR
  • Successful completion of a Level II background screening and drug screening
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish or English and other languages present in the local area
