ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are in search of friendly and dedicated individuals to foster a welcoming atmosphere for members of all backgrounds and abilities. The Membership Services Associate plays a crucial role in delivering outstanding customer service to our community. This position is highly visible, serving as the first point of contact for members entering our facilities and acting as engagement specialists. In this capacity, you will cultivate a friendly environment, promote membership sales, and connect members with YMCA programs such as swim lessons, sports, and childcare.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and welcome all members and potential members upon entry.
- Communicate the benefits and value of the YMCA as a nonprofit organization and the advantages of membership.
- Utilize our Daxko Operations software to manage membership sales and program registrations.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all program offerings, pricing, policies, and procedures.
- Deliver exceptional service to members, guests, and program participants both in-person and over the phone, enhancing member retention.
- Conduct engaging tours for prospective members, showcasing the community impact of the YMCA and the benefits of membership.
- Participate in all required staff meetings and training sessions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum age of 16 years.
- GED or High School Diploma preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Basic computer skills or willingness to learn within 90 days (MS Word, MS Excel, Daxko knowledge is a plus).
- Ability to perform CPR and First Aid skills as required.
- At least one year of experience in customer service, whether paid or volunteer.
- Strong interpersonal skills: Ability to effectively communicate and manage information with peers, staff, and volunteers.
