Manager, Property Tax

About the Role
Merit Advisors, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Manager, Property Tax to join our team in Katy, TX. As a key member of our consulting team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to clients through accurate data analysis and industry-leading results throughout the property tax cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform in-depth reviews of asset data and supporting documentation to determine proper valuations for tax assessments
  • Manage client contract terms, scope of services, and fees, ensuring timely collection of receivables
  • Analyze raw data from various accounting and reporting systems to identify trends and opportunities
  • Proactively secure tax abatements and exemptions for clients
  • Address complex issues arising from client operations and maintain direct contact with clients and appraisal districts
  • Develop and maintain tax expertise, analytical capabilities, and soft skills to drive business growth

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Four to six years of experience in a consulting firm, preferably with a Big Four background
  • Strong Excel skills, with bonus points for keyboard shortcuts
  • TDLR License or other certification/designation, such as CMI
  • Experience in the energy industry is a plus
