Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at St. Bernards Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a positive experience for our patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families, and arrange for the efficient and orderly registration of patients
• Collect and verify accurate patient and insurance information
• Answer telephone calls and respond to billing questions from patients
• Process medical records requests, information requests, and general patient account functions
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment and make decisions with minimal supervision

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum one year of experience in a customer service setting, preferably in a healthcare environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Working Conditions

This is a safety-sensitive position. The selected candidate will be required to undergo a background check and substance abuse screening. The work environment is a normal office setting with close eye work, vision corrected to 20/20, and occasional stress related to workload and customer interactions.
