Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at the Navy Exchange Service Command. As a Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the upkeep of our facilities and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs maintenance and repair tasks on buildings, grounds, fixtures, and equipment

• Conducts routine maintenance on washers and dryers, including cleaning lint ducts and vents, replacing hoses and fittings as needed

• Recognizes and reports electrical problems, makes repairs as necessary, and replaces fluorescent and incandescent ballasts, bulbs, and tubes

• Measures, cuts, and constructs or repairs wood or wood substitute items, conducts basic carpentry repairs, and replaces screens, window and door frames, molding, and trim

• Prepares areas and applies standard coating methods, including brushing, rolling, and spraying, to ensure surfaces are fully coated, protected, and free from drips and runs

Requirements:

• One year of experience in general maintenance practices, including the upkeep of buildings, grounds, fixtures, and equipment

• Ability to perform moderately strenuous physical labor, including standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling, and climbing

• Knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations, including procedures, tools, mechanical and electrified equipment, commonly used chemicals, and basic safe work practices
