Key Responsibilities- Estimate Management: Prepare and manage estimates for assigned projects, including creating detailed bid packages and project budgets.
- Scope Development: Develop scope documents for subcontractors, review bids for completeness, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Change Order Management: Attend change order meetings and support project managers in validating and pricing changes across multiple projects.
- Scope and Estimate Review: Lead scope and estimate review meetings, ensuring thorough and accurate estimates.
- Mentorship and Training: Mentor and support the training of junior staff members.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Foster and develop vendor relationships to support project success.
- Business Development: Participate in business development activities, helping to grow existing and new client relationships.
- Communication and Organization: Maintain excellent communication and organization, ensuring effective time management and the ability to prioritize multiple demands.
- Experience: 5+ years of mechanical estimating experience.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in construction management or mechanical engineering preferred, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
- Industry Expertise: Extensive experience with Process Piping in BioPharma and/or Semiconductor industries.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in estimating software such as QuickPen or similar platforms.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across all levels of management.
- Independence and Autonomy: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Business Development: Experience in business development, including building relationships with existing and new clients, is highly desirable.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Project, and other relevant software tools.
- Multi-Tasking: Ability to multi-task and handle several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Fundamental knowledge of the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC).
- Prolonged Sitting: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
- Travel: Able to travel as needed.
