We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Surgical Technologist to join our team at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. As a key member of our Operating Room team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

About the Role:

As a Cardiac Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for assisting the surgical team in providing skilled care for patients undergoing cardiac surgical procedures. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of the OR and maintaining a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the surgical team in preparing patients for surgery, including setting up equipment and instruments.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the surgical team.
  • Maintain aseptic technique and ensure the sterility of equipment and instruments.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Operating Room Technician program or minimum 2-year ORT experience preferred.
  • Certification by an approved certification body, such as the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) and/or the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) (CST), and 1 year OR experience.
