Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgical team in preparing patients for surgery, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to established safety protocols to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement effective surgical plans, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to the Perioperative Practice Coordinator (PPC) concerning preference cards and tray contents.
  • Actively participate in unit activities, including training and education programs, to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Operating Room Technician program or minimum 2-year ORT experience preferred.
  • Cardiac experience.
  • BCLS certification.
  • Certification by an approved certification body, such as the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) and/or the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) (CST).
