Job Summary

The Director of Philanthropy represents the Memorial Hermann Foundation across the organization and in the community. This role is responsible for executing major gifts fundraising programs to achieve annual fundraising goals.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Five years of professional experience in major gift fundraising, preferably in healthcare and/or non-profit arena
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and build relationships with donors, staff, partners, and physicians
  • Goal-oriented, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with stakeholders and adapt to meet varying needs and conditions
Accountabilities
  • Responsible for annual fundraising goals
  • Communicates directly with donors, prospects, and their advisers
  • Represents the Foundation in the professional and philanthropic community
  • Implements strategies for specialized campaign plans and directed fundraising projects
  • Qualifies and manages a major gifts portfolio of high-capacity donors

This role requires a high degree of professionalism, collegiality, maturity, and diplomacy. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office products and have knowledge of Raiser's Edge.
