EMCOR Government Services is seeking to enhance our rigging division. We are in search of an Equipment Rigging Foreman to operate from our Raleigh, NC office, focusing on projects within the Raleigh/Durham, NC vicinity. Most assignments will be within an hour's drive of the Raleigh area, ensuring you can return home each night. OSHA 30 certification will be necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishes hoisting apparatus for elevating and positioning structural steel components.
  • Secures steel elements to the hoist's cable using chains, cables, or ropes.
  • Communicates with the operator of hoisting machinery to lift and position steel components.
  • Directs the placement of components using a tag line (rope).
  • Manipulates steel components into approximate positions while supported by hoisting equipment.
  • Adjusts components into final positions using turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks, and hand tools.
  • Aligns holes in components with corresponding holes in previously installed components using drift pins or wrenches.
  • Confirms vertical and horizontal alignment of components using plumb bobs and levels.
  • Secures aligned components to maintain their position until they can be permanently fastened or welded.
  • Modifies steel components as necessary.
  • Identifies and responds to hazardous conditions or situations.
  • Regular attendance is mandatory.
  • Frequent travel may be required.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Work environments include offices, workshops, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped sites, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and inclement weather. Candidates must be able to safely access all areas of properties, buildings, structures, rooftops, and other elevated locations, as well as confined spaces. The ability to effectively utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and lift up to fifty pounds is essential. This position demands significant physical effort to safely execute essential functions. Candidates must be capable of standing for extended periods, bending frequently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, and in awkward body positions.
