Job Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor at Canoe Place Inn & Cottages is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department. This includes monitoring the work activities of Guest Room Attendants, ensuring that they provide a clean, orderly, and attractive environment for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain regular attendance and adhere to scheduling requirements.
  • Train housekeepers on cleaning and maintenance tasks, ensuring they meet Canoe Place standards.
  • Oversee housekeeping staff on a daily basis, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Conduct regular room and common area inspections to ensure cleanliness and tidiness.
  • Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in cases of absence.
  • Establish and educate staff on Canoe Place cleanliness, tidiness, and hygiene standards.
  • Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job.
  • Respond to customer complaints and special requests in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning products stock, including floor cleaner, bleach, and rubber gloves.
  • Participate in Preventive Cleaning projects as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Work experience as a Hotel Housekeeping Supervisor or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks for large organizations.
  • Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products.
  • Excellent organizational and team management skills.
  • Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Warm and engaging personality with good communication and interpersonal skills, especially verbal, with management, co-workers, guests, and other parties.
  • Very self-confident and mature.
  • Good self-discipline with an ability to complete tasks independently.
