About the RoleThe Chair will have oversight and responsibility for all aspects of the Department, driving its forward-looking strategy to advance its clinical, research, and education missions in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Department in its clinical, research, and education missions
- Develop and implement a strategic plan to advance the Department's goals
- Collaborate with other departments and institutions to advance the field of psychiatry and behavioral sciences
- Provide leadership and guidance to faculty and staff
- Ensure the Department's compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
- MD, MD/PhD in psychiatry; board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry and, preferably, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry
- 5 – 7 years of administrative and leadership experience at an academic institution or cancer center, serving as a Chair or Section/Division Chief
- Candidate must meet requirements for medical licensure in New York State
- An actively practicing physician is preferred
- National and international prominence in psychiatry and, ideally, consultation-liaison psychiatry
The salary range for this position is $700,000-$750,000 per year, with supplemental performance-based pay and other benefits available.
