Clinical Social Worker Job Description

**Overview**

At Yale New Haven Health, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and service. As a Clinical Social Worker, you will play a vital role in our interdisciplinary teams, working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to assess and treat patients, families, and social work consultation.

**Responsibilities**

* Conduct diagnostic assessments and provide counseling, psychotherapy, and brief treatment to patients and families
* Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with healthcare teams
* Provide mental health consultation and education to patients, families, and healthcare professionals
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures

**Qualifications**

* Master's degree in social work from an accredited program
* Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) from the State of Connecticut or Rhode Island
* 3,000 hours of post-masters social work experience and 100 hours of post-masters clinical supervision (for Connecticut) or 24 months of experience licensed as a licensed clinical social worker under appropriate supervision (for Rhode Island)

**Special Skills**

* Empathy, active listening, critical thinking, and strong organizational and computer skills
* Ability to effectively communicate with and advocate for patients and families

**Additional Information**

* Salary commensurate with licensure
* Assigned to SRC Emergency Room - Sun., Mon., Tues., & Thur.
