Job Description: Education/Recreation Instructor

Position Overview

The Education/Recreation Instructor plays a vital role in fostering creativity and engagement within the community. This position involves the development and implementation of enriching lesson plans and activities tailored for diverse groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute innovative lesson plans that captivate participants.
  • Establish a welcoming and secure atmosphere for all attendees.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the program Director regarding class content and participant feedback.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation of program activities and maintain organized workspaces.
  • Deliver personalized instruction to meet the varying needs of participants.
  • Organize and present art exhibitions to showcase community talent.

Required Competencies

  • At least one year of instructional experience, ideally with older adults.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Capability to work autonomously and demonstrate reliability.
  • Genuine interest in engaging with senior citizens and collaborating with volunteers.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is mandatory.
  • Dedication to fostering inclusivity and addressing systemic biases.
  • Commitment to supporting communities affected by social inequities.

Educational Qualifications

A minimum of a high school diploma is required, with an Associate's degree being preferred.
