The City of Fremont is seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our team. As a key member of our public works department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our wastewater treatment plant.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain wastewater treatment plant equipment, including pumps, motors, and laboratory equipment.
- Conduct routine laboratory tests and analyze data to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including pumps, mixers, and motors.
- Monitor and control chemical feed systems, including chlorine, bleach, and polymer.
- Collect and analyze samples from the treatment plant to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports related to plant operation and activities.
- Perform custodial maintenance, including tank cleaning, mowing, and painting.
- Handle hazardous chemicals and maintain a safe working environment.
- Meet all job safety requirements and applicable OSHA safety standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a wastewater treatment operator training program or equivalent experience.
- Class I OEPA Wastewater Treatment Operator's License and a valid Ohio Commercial Driver's License with applicable endorsements required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
The employee will be exposed to noisy operations, compressed gases, hand and portable tools, human blood or other potentially infectious materials, hazardous chemicals, hot, cold, wet, humid, and windy weather conditions.
