Unit Overview:
Join our 24-bed Progressive/Intermediate Care Unit located in a modern facility with private rooms. You will care for a diverse patient population with conditions such as CHF, COPD, chest pain, GI bleed, sepsis, and renal failure. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4/5, and our team consists of RNs, PCAs, and nursing students.
Role Summary:
The RN Clinical Float Pool is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in accordance with established standards. This role requires flexibility to float across various departments and locations within the organization, adapting to the dynamic needs of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
2. Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients.
3. Update and revise care plans to meet patient needs.
4. Administer medications safely, adhering to state regulations and organizational policies.
5. Participate in additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Current Ohio RN licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications (training available during orientation).
Essential Skills:
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and work independently.
Work Environment:
This position may involve high-stress situations and fluctuating workloads. The general work setting is an office environment with moderate noise levels, and you may encounter exposure to hazardous substances or infectious materials.
