Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Turner Construction. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for managing and supervising engineering and administrative policies, procedures, and functions at a project level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of contract documents, including Turner's contract, plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Lead, supervise, and develop Turner engineering staff, including performance appraisals.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, ethics, and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee communication among project team members and establish procedures with design professionals, consultants, owners, and subcontractors.
  • Work with Preconstruction, Estimating, and Purchasing to develop Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) or initial project budget.
  • Conduct construction document reviews and examine documents for constructability and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC).
  • Prepare contract items lists, trade scope of work documents, and procurement schedules.
  • Manage financial status of the project, including project status and financial reports.
  • Schedule, conduct, and document job meetings, owner-architect, and coordination meetings.
  • Manage subcontract change orders, including review of subcontractor estimates, negotiation, and owner approvals.
  • Manage project close-out, including securing warranties, guarantees, and acceptance of work.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus minimum of eight years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, cost control procedures, estimating, construction costs, scheduling, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Turner's Project Management and scheduling software.
  • Ability to implement leading-edge technologies, such as Building Information Models (BIM) and Lean.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment:

This role requires frequent on-site work at construction sites, where the employee will be exposed to various environmental conditions, including moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes, and outside weather conditions.
