Position Overview:
The City of New York is seeking a dedicated Social Services Supervisor to join our Department of Homeless Services (DHS). This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective management and oversight of our social services team, which plays a crucial role in addressing homelessness across the city.

Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing expert guidance and oversight to social services personnel.
  • Supervising the maintenance of comprehensive case records to ensure a holistic approach to care in areas such as mental health, employment, substance abuse, and recreational services.
  • Ensuring that case records are meticulously maintained in accordance with agency standards, updated regularly, and contain essential information relevant to individual living plans.
  • Reviewing weekly statistical and narrative reports, evaluating staff performance, coordinating case conferences, and fostering connections to resources that meet the needs of our clients.
  • Developing and enforcing staffing schedules to guarantee adequate coverage at all times.
  • Collaborating with DHS contracted sites and various city agencies to facilitate clients' transitions to independent living.

Work Schedule:
The typical work hours for this position are from 8 AM to 4 PM, Tuesday through Saturday, with days off on Sunday and Monday.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and have at least one year of full-time, satisfactory experience in social casework.
