Key Responsibilities
  • Emergency Call Processing: Answer 911 and interfacility transfer calls, providing coordination for ALS, BLS, and Special Transportation services.
  • Medical Triage and Direction: Determine the level of care required using medical triage with callers, and provide medical direction in emergencies prior to on-scene arrival.
  • Communication and Coordination: Provide coordination for medical transportation, ALS, BLS, and Special Transportation services, ensuring seamless communication and support.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Must be 18 years of age, with education and/or experience meeting required functional competencies.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) certification required within 60 days.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Emergency Medical Services Dispatch or Healthcare Experience: 2 years of experience in Emergency Medical Services Dispatch or Healthcare (Medical Assistant, Emergency Room Technician) is preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Sedentary Work: The role requires sedentary work, with occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds and negligible weight frequently.
