EMS Instructor Position for Continuing Education

The EMS Skills Instructor position is available in the Continuing Education department at Lenoir Community College. The successful candidate will provide high-quality instruction in various EMS subjects, adhering to programmatic, NCOEMS, and CAAHEP/CoAEMSP guidelines and standards.

Responsibilities
  • Teach classroom and lab sessions as assigned by the course lead instructor or program administrator.
  • Assist with setting up and cleaning up classes/labs, evaluating students, and promoting a culture of professionalism among staff and students.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, the EMS Skills Instructor will also assist students in using and maintaining lab equipment properly. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

We are seeking an experienced EMS professional who possesses the necessary qualifications, including an active, unrestricted NCOEMS credential at EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic level, or current licensure/certification as RN, PA-C, NP, or MD. Previous teaching experience, particularly as a psychomotor skills instructor, is preferred.

As part of our team, you will enjoy a competitive salary range of $30-$35 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The hourly wage reflects the value we place on attracting and retaining top talent in the field of EMS education.

This part-time position requires frequent standing for 6-8 hours per day, withstanding temperature changes, and performing physical tasks such as lifting and carrying items up to 150 lbs. Regular travel between buildings on campus and occasional travel to other campuses may be required.
