Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Guidance Specialist to provide academic counseling and briefings to active-duty Air Force personnel on all available voluntary education programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic counseling and briefings to active-duty Air Force personnel on all available voluntary education programs.
  • Counsel individuals on credit transfer to the Community College of the Air Force and other colleges and universities.
  • Assist and explain requirements for degree completion and various degree programs.
  • Provide guidance to wounded service members on educational opportunities and employment in preparation for transition to civilian life.
  • Conduct educational briefings and update the Air Force Automated Education Management System (AFAEMS) with attendance records and counseling sessions.

Requirements:

  • A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited American college or university.
  • A master's degree and/or 15-30 semester hours in academic counseling, secondary education, or a related discipline is highly desired.
  • At least one year of appropriate education-related professional work or volunteer experience in Education programs within the last 3 years is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of/experience with Air Force terminology, office procedures, and Department of Defense education programs is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
