Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Prescribe treatment for illnesses within the Family Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice, based on standing orders and nurse practitioner formulary.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies, determine which problems are within the scope of practice, and refer to specialists as needed.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Perform minor diagnostic and surgical procedures within the scope of practice, inform patients of risks and benefits, and provide well-women's examinations and routine physicals.
  • Evaluate, test for, and treat sexually transmissible diseases, educate and counsel patients on contraceptive management, and assess and treat acute illnesses and injuries.
  • Exercise competence in electronic medical records and information systems, participate in educational and informational programs, and administer designated immunizations.
  • Act as laboratory manager, maintain accreditation as a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) waived laboratory, and perform point-of-care testing.
  • Provide urgent and emergency services, respond to campus emergencies, and provide in-clinic triage for acute illnesses or injuries.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with ability to work under pressure and provide accurate, effective care in stressful situations.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion, with knowledge of trends, issues, and accepted practices relevant to the position.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, working in an office/medical environment. The work is performed in a typical interior work environment, with minimal exposure to physical risks.
