Houston, Texas, United States UT Health Science Center Full time

We are seeking an Acute Hepatology Nurse Practitioner to join our team at UT Health Science Center.

As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide advanced nursing care to patients with complex acute, critical, and/or chronic health conditions in a clinic or hospital setting. Your expertise and specialized training will enable you to conduct independent and physician-supervised rounding on the unit, perform relevant patient evaluations and assessments, and provide appropriate treatment, including monitoring and ordering medications.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in hepatology and be able to coordinate, direct, and implement patient care plans. You will also assist in collecting patient histories, screen for co-morbidities, and provide guidance and preventative health care as needed.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a world-renowned institution that prioritizes its employees' wellbeing. Our comprehensive benefits package includes 100% paid medical premiums, generous time off, longevity pay, and a competitive salary, estimated to be around $120,000-$150,000 per year, depending on experience.

In addition to your clinical expertise, we value your ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams. You will be responsible for preparing charts for review and counter-signature by physicians, maintaining accurate records, and responding to emergency situations.

To be considered for this role, you must possess a current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse and an APRN-NP, as well as basic life support certification. A Master's degree in Nursing and completion of a post-master's Nurse Practitioner Certification Program are also required.
