Phlebotomy Technician II Job Description

Providence Medical Center, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our clinical laboratory, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of blood collection and specimen handling.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for blood draws, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Collect blood samples using venipuncture, capillary puncture, or other techniques, and ensure proper identification and labeling of specimens.
  • Organize, handle, and transport specimens to the laboratory for testing, maintaining the integrity of specimens and ensuring accurate test results.
  • Adhere to quality control and safety protocols, maintaining equipment and supplies in working order and properly sanitized.
  • Perform complex or specialized phlebotomy procedures as required, often with minimal supervision.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained current.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
