Overview of the Role

The Assistant Manager of Inventory Security is accountable to the Store Inventory Security Manager and plays a crucial role in managing inventory loss performance and executing the Inventory Security Strategy for their designated store. This position requires strict adherence to all company protocols, as well as local, state, and federal regulations during internal and external theft investigations or inquiries. The Assistant Manager will collaborate effectively with both Customers and Associates within the store to ensure clear communication and execution of objectives.

Key Attributes:
  • Possesses a strong understanding of retail security systems.
  • Comfortable with public speaking, technology, and on-the-spot learning.
  • Able to cultivate effective communication styles and techniques with store leadership, corporate partners, law enforcement, and Inventory Security teams.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; a valid state security license is mandatory. A college degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in retail Inventory Security, preferably in a luxury retail setting.
  • Strong understanding of retail security systems, information systems, and productivity software.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying inventory loss vulnerabilities and developing innovative strategies to address them.
  • Wicklander-Zulawski Certification is desirable.
  • Comfortable with public speaking, technology, and quick learning.
Responsibilities as the Assistant Manager, Inventory Security:
  • Oversee and maintain the integrity of physical inventory by regularly reviewing reports and audits, and developing internal investigations with Inventory Security Investigators.
  • Maintain consistent communication with Store Leadership, Managers, and Associates to raise awareness of inventory loss results, concerns, strategic initiatives, and external investigations.
  • In collaboration with the Inventory Security team and with the approval of senior store leadership, will recruit, develop, manage performance, and separate Inventory Security Investigators as necessary. The Assistant Manager will also provide termination recommendations to senior leaders based on the outcomes of related investigations.
  • Provide final insights on audit execution and internal audit preparedness.
  • Work alongside sales support to ensure adherence to inventory loss control processes.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required.

Compensation and Benefits:

The starting salary for this position is $58,000 annually. Factors that may influence starting pay within this range include market conditions, skills, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
