Job Summary

As a Chemical Process Operator at Heraeus, you will be responsible for operating chemical processes and equipment to meet production goals and expectations while maintaining compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety Standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate chemical processes and equipment correctly, ensuring consistent production and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and all other procedures in detail, including safety policies.
  • Participate in end-of-shift turnovers, effectively communicating with team members.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators, as needed.
  • Operate equipment, such as pumps, GLVs, filter presses, and reactors, in a reasonable and self-sustaining manner.
  • Understand basic chemical reactions and properties of chemicals within the work area.
  • Handle and process Hazardous Waste as required within the work area.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience in basic chemical operations or related experience required.
  • Ability to process and follow verbal directions and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and conversion to percentage and metric system.
  • Understand concepts involving statistics, probabilities, and formula manipulation.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, smell.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May be assigned shifts that include evening, nights, and/or weekend days.
  • Able to successfully complete a background check, pre-placement physical exam, and drug screen.
