The role of the Group Leader encompasses a variety of responsibilities related to the pheresis process and plasma collection, ensuring compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines:
- Oversee donor preparation, observation, and disconnection during the pheresis process.
- Execute venipuncture to initiate the pheresis procedure in accordance with SOPs and regulatory standards.
- Assess donor vein functionality, implement necessary adjustments, and guarantee both donation effectiveness and donor well-being.
- Provide education to new donors regarding therapeutic products derived from donated plasma and center protocols.
- Monitor donor responses, utilize electronic systems to document incidents, and deliver technical training to team members.
- Ensure smooth donor flow, conduct equipment calibrations, resolve technical issues, and maintain precise donor data documentation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-supplied work environment.
- Uphold confidentiality and may receive cross-training in additional areas as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred experience of at least 18 months in a medical or healthcare setting.
- Specialized training in medical procedures or phlebotomy is advantageous.
- Ability to make decisions with moderate impact.
- Must be observant, communicative, and capable of performing physical tasks.
- Work in a dynamic environment with occasional exposure to hazardous materials and bloodborne pathogens.
- Personal Protective Equipment is mandatory, and overtime may be required.
