Job Scope

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for processing Accounts Payable related transactions, reviewing and ensuring the accurate payment of vendor invoices, and proper coding to the General Ledger.

You will analyze and research discrepancies between invoices, P.O.'s and Receivers, perform duties under general direction with periodic supervision, and support applicable regulations including ISO, Local, State, and/or Federal requirements.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Review and match Invoices, purchase orders and receivers.
  • Research discrepancies on invoice and follow-up with vendors and/or employees.
  • Code invoice with correct general ledger account numbers.
  • Process credit requests.
  • Review and process expense reports.
  • Enter and post batches.
  • Process checks.
  • Attach checks to proper backup.
  • Research and reconcile statements monthly, and Print Accounts Payable Aging Report and research any significantly aged items.
  • Perform month end accruals.
  • Reconcile Purchase Clearing Account.
  • Process expense reports, ensuring expenses reported conform to company guideline and all necessary approvals have been obtained.
  • Perform assigned tasks in accordance with applicable Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations and Company EHS policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administrations, Accounting or Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in Finance and Accounting.
  • Computer literacy, demonstrated ability to work independently, demonstrated cooperativeness and dependability, and strong organizational, communication, writing and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Excellent knowledge of Word and Excel. Knowledge of MAS 200 preferred. Familiarity with Google Suite.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
