Position Overview

The Security Operations Analyst plays a crucial role in shaping and implementing a strategic framework aimed at enhancing and sustaining the organization's security stance. This position requires a deep understanding of security methodologies, incident management, and recovery processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Immediate Response: Actively addresses urgent security incidents, evaluates potential threats, and orchestrates containment and mitigation strategies.
  • Escalation Support: Manages security tickets and incident responses, while leading key security projects.
  • Continuous Monitoring: Regularly evaluates the organization's systems and applications, prioritizing critical security updates and remediation efforts.
  • Security Controls Maintenance: Ensures robust security measures are enforced across various platforms to uphold internal security protocols, safeguarding the integrity of enterprise networks and applications.
  • Staying Informed: Remains current with cybersecurity trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Awareness Promotion: Acts as a security expert to foster awareness and encourage transparent communication across departments.
  • Threat Mitigation: Develops and executes strategies to mitigate risks, alongside conducting event reporting and trend analysis.
  • Compliance Assurance: Guarantees that all activities align with relevant banking regulations and data security laws.
  • On-Call Duties: Participates in on-call rotations to address critical incidents as necessary.
  • Flexible Hours: May be required to work during evenings or nights.

Experience Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in Information Security or Security Operations.
  • Experience in the financial services sector is advantageous.
  • 3 years of familiarity with security technologies, including vulnerability management, cloud security, and endpoint protection.

Essential Skills and Training

  • Practical experience with security architecture and technologies.
  • Ability to detect, analyze, and respond to security events effectively.
  • Experience in managing system and application vulnerabilities.
  • Proficient in applying security principles based on industry standards.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various security technologies and their functionalities.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding information security, including NIST standards.
  • Familiarity with FFIEC guidelines and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act is a plus.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, capable of synthesizing data from diverse sources to identify risks.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning in a dynamic environment.
