Department Overview:

The Indo-Pacific Regional Operations Department collaborates with military service components to inform warfighter requirements and operational concepts. We provide Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) systems acquisition, engineering, and integration support to the Department of Defense and allied nations in the Pacific Theater. Our organization is dynamic and proactive, fostering direct connections to warfighters, which enables us to monitor and engage in current operations and exercises.

This access allows us to inform technological innovation and capability analysis with expertise in operational domains.

Our department's operational depth and access to warfighters have cultivated significant expertise in developing and analyzing operational concepts, mission threads, use cases, and requirements.

We establish connections between Department of Defense sponsors and coalition partner development activities, positioning ourselves at the forefront of current operations and as thought leaders in force modernization.


Key Responsibilities:

You will play a crucial role in shaping MITRE's contributions across the Indo-Pacific Command by guiding and implementing strategic and operational C4 and partner nation cybersecurity initiatives.

The selected individual will collaborate closely with military and civilian personnel across various USINDOPACOM staff directorates.

This collaboration includes working with country officers, Foreign Military Sales efforts, and significant security cooperation initiatives.

Your tasks will involve analysis and recommendations to support high-level capability planning and prioritization in coordination with other Combatant Commands, the Joint Staff, Combat Support Agencies, and Service Components.

Successful candidates will possess in-depth knowledge of relevant policies, processes, technical systems, and coalition security cooperation protocols necessary for executing strategic and operational-level recommendations.


Engage with USINDOPACOM and the MITRE Project Leader to define and guide strategic objectives and daily execution of support for security cooperation efforts. Collaborate actively with other projects to maximize value and impact across MITRE's sponsors.

Demonstrate proficiency in one or more of the following areas: (1) Defense Security Cooperation; (2) Systems architecture and integration; (3) Translating operational needs into system requirements; or (4) Model-Based Systems Engineering.

Support and partner with senior military leaders and action officers to identify operational and engineering challenges, propose solutions, and communicate project goals effectively.

Work as part of multiple geographically distributed teams to develop a robust network of MITRE and professional connections.

Engage and collaborate with engineers, planners, subject matter experts, and defense acquisition professionals.

Comfortably interact with senior military leaders and engineers from both the U.S. and partner nations, as well as commercial executives, while maintaining appropriate strategic partnerships.

Be adaptable to changes in the environment and sponsor priorities, understanding the importance of reach-back capabilities to bring the right talent forward at the right time.


Basic Qualifications:

Typically, a Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering or Computer Science, or a Bachelor's degree in International Relations with 8 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 6 years of experience; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

Five years of professional experience in International Affairs and Security Cooperation.

Prior experience with the Department of Defense and relevant agencies is preferred.

Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.

This position requires on-site presence.


Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's degree in a related field is preferred.

Five years of experience in military C4, cybersecurity, or command and control is advantageous.

Experience coordinating with relevant Geographical Combatant Commands on security cooperation efforts is beneficial.

Familiarity with U.S. Government security sector assistance plans and activities is a plus.

Demonstrated experience with project management processes and tools is desirable.

Knowledge of C4 and international cybersecurity policy is beneficial.

Basic understanding of enterprise and architectural engineering is preferred.

Familiarity with defensive cyber operations and related frameworks is advantageous.

Flexibility and a proactive approach are essential.


Additional Clearances:

Active Top Secret/SCI clearance may be required.


As part of MITRE's initiatives, employees may be eligible for various incentive programs.

Salary Range: $138,500 - $173,000 - $207,500 annually.


Work Location: Onsite.
