Job Overview

Position: Cloud Solutions Engineer specializing in AWS and Terraform

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead public cloud migration projects, utilizing your expertise in complex systems to foresee challenges and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Develop innovative software solutions, focusing on design, development, and technical troubleshooting, while employing unconventional methods to resolve technical issues.
  • Manage comprehensive platform challenges and deliver solutions to enhance platform performance on AWS, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Formulate and execute strategies to maximize the utilization of Amazon's cloud services, including AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS RDS, and others.
  • Architect resilient, secure, and high-performance cloud platforms adhering to industry best practices.
  • Analyze and enhance system performance, proactively addressing customer needs and driving continuous improvement.
  • Provide operational support and engineering for the public cloud infrastructure, focusing on system optimization and automation of routine tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create effective solutions and enhance user experiences.
  • Conduct resilience testing and chaos engineering exercises to ensure system robustness.
  • Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, and others, alongside container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes, while leveraging various AWS services.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Formal education or certification in software engineering principles, complemented by over 10 years of practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, including Java, Python, or Go.
  • Strong grasp of business technology drivers and their influence on architectural design, performance, and best practices.
  • Experience in designing and building web environments on AWS, utilizing services such as EC2, ALB, NLB, and others.
  • Familiarity with modern technologies, including Java 8+, Spring Boot, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with DevOps tools in cloud environments, such as Ansible, Docker, and Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and Environment-as-Code (EaC) practices using tools like Terraform.
  • Experience with high-volume, SLA-critical applications and event-driven architectures.
  • Deep understanding of the financial industry and its IT systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in programming languages, particularly Java.
  • AWS Associate-level certification in Developer, Solutions Architect, or DevOps.
  • Experience in building AWS infrastructure components such as EKS, EC2, and RDS.
  • Familiarity with high-volume, mission-critical applications and event-driven architectures using technologies like Apache Kafka.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk and Datadog.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and its interdependencies.
  • Ability to develop processes and tools to enhance operational maturity.
