Our Turbine Engine Mechanic Training Initiative is a comprehensive 12-week paid training program designed to provide structure and standards for employee training and development.
Emphasizing a 'learn-by-doing' approach, you will frequently transition between theoretical learning, hands-on lab work, and instructor-led practical training on engines.
Upon successful completion of the program, you will be assigned to one of our engine programs.Key Learning Outcomes:
• Repair and overhaul of gas turbine engines
• Inspection of engine modules and components
• Understanding of safety protocols and aviation regulations
Candidate Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent education.
• Preferred minimum of 2 years of relevant training or experience.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English. Ability to interpret manuals, technical drawings, and blueprints to ascertain proper operating conditions.
• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance. Ability to stand for extended periods and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
SkillBridge Specific Information:
This is an unpaid fellowship through the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge Program.
The selected fellow will not receive compensation or benefits from StandardAero and will remain an employee of the DoD, receiving compensation and benefits through the DoD.
DoD SkillBridge Eligibility Criteria:
• Must have served at least 180 days on active duty
• Eligible to participate within the last 6 months of separation or retirement
• Must receive an honorable discharge
• Must have completed any service TAP/TGPS
• Must have attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
• Must have written authorization and approval from the Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in the chain of command) to participate in the DoD SkillBridge Program prior to the start of the fellowship.
