Nurse Practitioner Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Coastal Family Health Center. As an integral member of our interdisciplinary health team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the care of patients, including administration of treatments and medications, patient education, triage, and clinic flow activities.
- Work within the scope of practice defined by the Mississippi State Board of Nursing.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, co-workers, and the general public.
- Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Organize supplies and materials, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow and give oral and written instructions, and maintain confidentiality of patient and staff information.
- Perform vision and hearing tests, EKGs, injections, immunizations, CLIA wave testing, and other nursing procedures as required.
- Assist in the laboratory as directed by Practice Manager or Director of Nursing.
- Document patient information accurately and completely in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Act as an advocate for patients and families, and provide patient and parent education as appropriate.
- Screen and process requests for information and services through telephone and in-person triage.
- Interact professionally with patients, providers, co-workers, and the general public.
- Assess the security of patients, staff, and the facility, and report any problems to Practice Manager or Risk Manager.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with current licensure in the state of Mississippi or compact licensure state.
- Obtain/maintain TB Certification within 90 days of hire.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Leadership skills and a caring attitude towards patient care.
- Experience in a primary care medical office practice, community health, public health, or equivalent setting preferred.
